St. Joseph's International School - Zokhawthar

St. Joseph's International School is situated at the border of India and Myanmar. it is owned and managed by the Fathers of Holy Cross NE India. It has about 220 students from Nursery to Class VIII, out of which about 60 students are from Myanmar, coming to the school across the border.

As you can see these pictures, we have very dedicated and committed teachers who tried their best to impart knowledge and educating the heart and mind of these simple, lovely children. In spite of poor infrastructure and lack of facilities, these children seem to be happy and proud being part of Holy Cross institution. If the facilities were better, there could have been more students.

On behalf of the school management and the students, I implore you all those individual generous people, Agencies, NGO's and anyone who see these pictures, to come forwards and extend a helping hand in building a better infrastructure and facilities for these school children. They are eagerly waiting for some help, so that they can study better, enjoy better facilities and are able to complete like any other students.

Our Lady of Sorrows

The Solemnity of Our Lady of Sorrows, September 15

our_lady_of_sorrows“There stood by the Cross of Jesus his mother Mary, who knew grief and was a Lady of Sorrows. She is our special patroness, a woman who bore much she could not understand and who stood fast. To her many sons and daughters, whose devotions ought to bring them often to her side, she tells much of this daily cross and its daily hope” (Constitutions of the Congregation of Holy Cross, 8:120).
When deciding on a patron for the Congregation of Holy Cross, our founder Blessed Basil Moreau selected Our Lady of Sorrows.
Moreau’s original vision was that the Congregation of Holy Cross be one community of priests, brothers and sisters living and working together in imitation of the Holy Family. He consecrated the priests to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, the sisters to the Immaculate Heart of Mary and the brothers to Saint Joseph, but he placed the entire Congregation under the patronage of Our Lady of Sorrows.
Moreau often stressed the importance of conforming one’s entire life to Christ, which Mary models through her Seven Sorrows. He said, “It is (in her sorrows) that we shall see to what extent she has loved us! She stood at the foot of the cross, among the executioners and soldiers, so close to her dying Son that no detail of his death could escape her. … What did she do in this circumstance, so painful for her heart, being minister before the altar on which the sacrifice of our redemption was accomplished? Truly, she fulfills fully her part in the work of Christ, to ‘fill up, in her own flesh, those things that are lacking in Christ’s afflictions for his body, which is the Church.’”

HAPPY FEAST DAY TO ONE AND ALL

Feast of seven sorrows of Mother Mary

Mary, surrounded by the Seven Sorrows

The Seven Sorrows (or Dolors) are events in the life of the Blessed Virgin Mary that are a popular devotion and are frequently depicted in art.[1]
It is a common devotion for Catholics to say daily one Our Father and seven Hail Marys for each.
  1. The Prophecy of Simeon. (Luke 2:34–35) or the Circumcision of Christ
  2. The Flight into Egypt. (Matthew 2:13)
  3. The loss of the child Jesus in the Temple. (Luke 2:43–45)
  4. Mary meets Jesus on the way to Calvary.
  5. Jesus dies on the cross. (John 19:25)
  6. The piercing of the side of Jesus, and Mary's receiving the body of Jesus in her arms. (Matthew 27:57–59)
  7. The body of Jesus is placed in the tomb. (John 19:40–42)

Students themselves took initiative, performed cultural programs to entertain their teachers to show their gratitude and presented gifts as a symbol of their love to their teachers. We have different school's pictures of teachers' day celebrations as follows:

Farewell to you my dear students

Farewell

To the school management, teaching and non teaching staff and to you my dear students,

One year has gone by since I landed here. It is fresh in memories like yesterday, when I was warmly welcomed and introduced to you all. But now, it’s time to bid farewell to you as it is time for me to part from you.
With gratitude I take this opportunity to express my sincere thank to each and every one of you for accepting me as I am, and made me feel at home here. Thank you for understanding me in spite of differences in cultural background.

You have taught me good lessons to change my life and become a better human person. I am deeply inspired by the commitment, dedication, hard work and creativity of the teachers. I experienced, curiosity to learn, creativity in expression, discipline in life and seriousness in learning from the students. I learned lots from my loving little kids of LKG, UKG and Class I, the value of simplicity, truthfulness and generosity.

Even though I have not contributed much for this institution and for the growth of each individual, yet I am sure that I have touched the hearts of some of you in one way or the other through our interactions in and outside the class. Some of you will remember me for the song “ Chini sunani….sana sunani”.

So, this is my prayer that this institution may grow into a mighty tree to impart good education to many more people around here and that God will bless the management, staff and students of Holy Cross Matriculation School with success.
As I take leave of you, I will carry along with me the enriching experiences and wonderful moments I spent with you. Because you are the one who made my stay comfortable, my life enjoyable and wonderful. I want you to know that I will always remember and cherish these enriching experiences in my life. Thank you.

It was sad that this web site was discontinued due to unavoidable reasons and now we are resuming once again and hoping to update regularly in the future.

Your positive strokes and concrete suggestions, feed back and comments for the betterment of this web site is always welcomed. I expect your sincere cooperation and support.
